Angie graduated from UCLA with a degree Sociology and extensive study in Spanish language and literature.  She attended Loyola Law School and has been a practicing attorney since 2003.  She grew up in Southern California but didn’t start surfing until 2011.  After taking a lesson on a cold, rainy day in February she was hooked.  Since then, Angie has surfed all over the world. She has had an opportunity to deepen her appreciation and respect for all cultures by forming connections and friendships with other surfers despite differences in culture, language or time zones.

Through her own life experiences, she intimately understands the delicate balance of preserving cultural traditions while still being able to progress past them to reach through glass ceilings.  She is passionate about the protection of women’s rights and building confidence and leadership skills in our youth.  She brings to the Pelican Crew her strong advocacy, organization and presentation skills; As well as an acute awareness to cultural sensitivities and women’s rights.  “Surfing is the freedom to be present.”
