Growing up in Huntington Beach, Tapti has always had a relationship with the ocean and beach life.   From beach runs with friends, to exploring the local wetlands, Tapti developed an appreciation for the beach, and it’s surrounding environment at a very young age.  After graduating from Marina High School, Tapti continued her education at the University of California at Los Angeles, and went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School.  In her career, Tapti champions the rights of crime victims and underserved communities.

The Pelican Crew strikes a particular chord in her heart not only due to her profession but also due to her South Asian heritage. The child of immigrant parents, with lots of family and friends that still live in India, Tapti has had direct experiences with the plight of children and women in South Asia. Specifically, she is driven by the need to provide kids with education and leadership opportunities. She brings an essential background and perspective to the Pelican Crew’s mission.  This background has created in her a passion to foster the empowerment of all children and particularly those who do not have the same opportunities as others.
